How long does it take to complete a certificate?

Each certificate consists of three courses (7.5 credits). Students either take two courses per mini term, or a single course, depending on the certificate schedule; and complete the certificate in either two or three 7-week mini terms. 

 Can I transfer credits from a certificate to a full master’s degree?

Yes. Credits from a healthcare certificate can be applied toward Simon’s Master’s in Medical Management (MMM), and you can stack up to two certificates toward that degree. Credits from the AI in Business certificate can be applied toward Simon's MS in Business Analytics & Applied AI program. 

Credits from both certificates can also be applied toward the Executive MBA or Professional MBA. Speak with an admissions advisor for more details. 

Who should consider enrolling in these certificates?

The healthcare certificates are designed for healthcare professionals—both clinical and non-clinical—who want to enhance their business, leadership, finance, or data analytics skills to advance in healthcare management roles.

The AI in Business certificate is designed for professionals looking to apply generative AI for real business impact. Practical, online courses allow for immediate application and career growth.

Do I need prior business, finance, or AI experience? 

No. These certificates are designed to provide foundational knowledge, making them accessible to professionals from diverse backgrounds.

What format are courses offered in? 

Courses are offered in a part-time, online format to accommodate working professionals. 

What is the cost of the program?

Simon accepts tuition benefits from the University of Rochester and local employers. We encourage you to check in with your employer to explore your options.
