Vision ConsultingSimon Vision Consulting enables relationships between Simon’s graduate students and Rochester’s community of professionals through short-term consulting projects. The organization aims to develop mutually beneficial partnerships by challenging students to utilize both previous work experiences and coursework to deliver valuable insights to clients, while providing businesses with fresh perspectives for overcoming their most pressing obstacles. Vision’s consultant teams capitalize on strengths derived from students’ diverse education, professional, and cultural backgrounds, as well as Simon’s unabashedly analytical brand, to deliver high-quality recommendations and deliverables, from pro-forma financial plans to robust go-to-market strategies.

Meliora FundManaged by a team of MBA and MS students and members of the Simon Finance and Investment Club, the Simon Meliora Fund is invested in various sectors from healthcare and finance to energy and TMT. Its mission is to provide a forum for students to gain insight into investment selection and portfolio management through hands-on learning. It also provides funds for the current and future support of Simon Business School. |
AIN CenterAs interest in entrepreneurship grows, Simon Business School is continually evolving to provide opportunities budding business owners and entrepreneurs. Recognizing the need for innovative business education, Simon Business School offers its MBA students an Entrepreneurship concentration for those interested in the area of startup ventures or managing small businesses. This concentration teaches students the skills needed in entrepreneurial start-up situations and small businesses: writing a business plan, financing a new venture, deciding whether to incorporate, and protecting intellectual property. The University of Rochester Ain Center for Entrepreneurship works directly with Simon to identify partnerships with alumni, local businesses, and nonprofit organizations to develop new ways to teach entrepreneurship. Our innovative Internship Program offers an opportunity for selected students to work with senior management in entrepreneurial firms in the Rochester area.

Simon Venture FundThe Simon School Venture Fund (SSVF) is an early stage seed fund run by MBA and Master’s students at the Simon School, University of Rochester. The SSVF is an evergreen fund made possible through the support of alumni donations. The Fund is guided by an alumni advisory board that consists of VCs, successful entrepreneurs, and accomplished professionals in finance, law and other disciplines. Its purpose is to create a unique experiential learning opportunity for students with respect to venture capital, private equity, and entrepreneurship. The Fund provides hands-on due diligence, interaction with entrepreneurs, presentations to advisory board members, direct participation in investment decisions, and ongoing monitoring and analysis of investments. The objective is to make sound investment decisions based on comprehensive due diligence and investment analysis with the intent to perpetuate the life of the fund.
